Our images/content

Regarding adding certain celebrities

OTB does not create fakes. The content is determined by the artists in the wider faking community. We can't post what doesn't exist, so if the pictures haven't been created we can't post them. Sorry. (See 'requesting').

Regarding adding videos

If any of the fake videos were good enough to be added, they would be, unfortunately they aren't.

"There are loads more fakes of so-and-so that you don't have, add them!"

OTB is about the best - there may be many more images out there, but if they aren't in OTB, its because they aren't good enough.

"Where can I request an image?"

Outside OTB, on the forums and websites where the fakes are sourced from (see below for a few examples). Most communities already have a well-established request system, so there is no need to duplicate such a system on OTB.

Regarding submitting images to OTB

You can't. In early 2008, users were briefly allowed to upload fakes until the feature was removed. A huge number of laughably poor-quality, or disturbingly underage images were uploaded, requiring too much time to sort through. This system will not be added back. OTB likes to support the community, so rather than uploading your images to OTB, we'd suggest you register an account with one of the popular forums such as NFC, Phoenix, FakeClub, FakePlace etc. If your work is enjoyed by the members of those forums, theres a good chance it will get added to OTB automatically.

"I'm an artist - how can I get onto the artist list?"

Artists are associated with an image by tagging, so your first job is to ensure your images are tagged with your name. Once you've tagged your work, the tag will be manually upgraded to an "Artist tag" by the administrator. All artist tags appear on the Artist List, but may take 24hrs to do so. Let the administrator know, if your tag hasn't been upgraded to an artist one.

"Can you send me some/all of your content?"

No.

"Some of the tags are totally wrong, you fucking suck!"

No, you suck. Tags are added by our users, not by the administrators. If you find a problem, you can let us know by filling in the "Wrongly tagged" form, below the list of tags for each image, or by contacting the administrator.

Troubleshooting

"None of the fakes show up, what gives?"

This is related to your internet setup. We use something called "Referer Information" (aka "what page this image is linked on") to prevent people stealing our images. Its what keeps this site free. Referer information is sent to us by your web browser, but some firewalls, ISPs and browsers, block this information and this triggers our preventative measures. Try turning off your firewall or modifying the settings, and try investigating your browser security/privacy settings. We will never remove this system, because it is what keeps the site free. We're will not provide support on this matter either, since it effects such a small percentage of our users and the possible causes are numerous. We'd suggest that in future you don't install software which you don't understand.

"My email/password details don't work"

Yes they do. The password system is automatic and has worked for over 100,000 users so far. Its more likely that you're making the error. Make sure you're entering your email address exactly how it appears in your welcome email. Its sometimes possible to accidentally copy blank spaces with the text you really want - try typing in your password by hand, rather than copying and pasting it.

I haven't received my password, what do I do?

Check your spam filters. We also suggest you white-list the onlythebestfakes.com domain in your mail software before registration, to increase your chances of delivery. You can also try registering again - you may have typed it wrong the first time around.

"If I donate, can you raise the download limit for me?" / "Does donation mean you'll allow me to download more?"

No. Donations are voluntary and do not affect your download limit at all. If we were to create a system where donations gave you more downloads, we would have effectively created a pay-per-view website, which is against our mission statement.

OTB company

"I would like to buy your entire site/your domain name/your gallery engine/your content"

We're always open to offers (via email), but please consider the following: This website has 100,000+ users, 20,000+ images and a bespoke engine capable of load-balancing our content on a Linux, Apache, Lighttpd, MySQL and PHP setup, with 7 years of development and optimisation in place, written by a professional web developer. We'd expect offers to reflect both the quality of our product and the potential monetary gain you'd stand to make from it, over the lifetime of it's use.

Other

Regarding an OTB forum

There are many faking fora out there already, many of which are mediocre and/or poorly managed. OTB has no intention of adding to the already oversaturated list. OTB users should help support their community and join one of the existing, larger forums if they wish to discuss faking.

"Can you help me make my own faking site?"

OTB will happily give advice via email.
